Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins

We left the hospital today and you can tell Miles is excited to be home. One special thing about where we live is that Miles has three cousins nearby and it just so happened his cousin Eli, who lives in Maryland, was visiting this week. And his uncle Thai was visiting from LA as well so Miles has been able to meet two of his cousins and most of his aunts and uncles (cousins Tate, Caleb, and aunt Rachel are playing it safe for now but live only 25 miles away). So this blog post goes out to his four male cousins...I hope Miles enjoys their style because I see lots of hand-me-downs from them in his future. (This post was corrected 12/30 as Grandma "Hawkeye" Barb noticed a typo in the number of cousins).

Miles's First Night

Let's see...poops a lot, eats a lot, and sleeps a lot. Yup, Miles is my son. After a dramatic entrance to the world it's been a low key overnight session for Miles (although we've been warned he might get more fussy after the first 24 hours). He's had some bonding time with his grandparents and even cousin Nicholas. Here he is with his Grandpa Norm and Nicholas (nice kilt). And he also got to meet Grandma Barb who is a veteran at this game with 4 grandsons now.

Welcome Miles

Miles Leo Cohen was born today, Christmas 2009, at 12:07 PM. He clocks in at 20.75 inches and 7 lbs, 12 oz. Rosy woke up this morning with some mild contractions that quickly turned sharp and we headed to the hospital around 6am. After a smooth process for 5-6 hours, we had a fairly dramatic birth that involved an emergency c-section and Miles entering the world quicker than we imagined, but very healthy (and Rosy is quickly recovering). He has his mother's good looks but his dad's full head of hair. Here he is with Aunt Van and Grandma Dao, we can't wait for all the adventures that await him. While today is Miles's special day, Rosy deserves all of our love for what she went through to bring him into this world. Miles is lucky to have such a wonderful mother!
